"Z Custom Knives was started by
my grandfather, Zollan McCarty. He
started in the knife making trade in 1947. I have been in and around
the knife shop my entire life learning this trade. All the knives are
handmade and customized by me. Although I make all kinds of knives,
automatics are my specialty. I heat treat and Rockwell test every
blade. The blade steels I most commonly use are ATS 34, 154 CM, 440C,
Vastco Max C350, CPMS30V, CPMS60V, CPMS90V, and the tool steel CPM10V.
The frames of my knives are 6AL/4V titanium or ATS34. All knives have a
lifetime guarantee. Please remember that I am the only worker in the
shop, thus the lifetime guarantee is good as long as I am alive and
able."
